The Cationic Asphalt Emulsion RM-1C provides excellent adhesion of the asphalt binder to mineral contact surfaces, whether acidic or basic. Formulated with aminated emulsifiers to characterize the rapid breakdown of the emulsion, it provides rapid cohesion of the asphaltic film, through a predominantly chemical phenomenon, in contact with the aggregate or with the plated surface.

The RM-1C Cationic Asphalt Emulsion is specifically formulated for use in mixtures with rapid deposition of the asphalt film on the surface of the mineral aggregates, it provides immediate cohesiveness and storage property of the asphalt mixtures (presence of mineral or vegetable thinners) for a period determined by the characteristics of the paving service to be carried out and the weather conditions (local temperature).

The RM-1C Asphalt Emulsion is used in paving services with the use of cold pre-mixed asphalt mixtures (PMF’s) of different granulometric grades: open / draining and semi-dense and in cold asphalt sand mixtures (AAF), and can also be used in paving services by spreading the asphalt binder (inverted penetration): sealing layer, anti-dust treatment and diluted paints (final bath and bonding paint)

In machining services of asphalt mixes, the Cationic Asphalt Emulsion RM-1C must be used at room temperature and must not be heated. The aggregates must be clean (washed gravel) and free of stone dust or sand containing reactive clay.

Under these conditions, the asphalt mixtures show good involvement and the formation of a continuous asphalt film for covering, adhesion and cohesion of the aggregates.

In case of storage for long periods, it is recommended to circulate the product once a week. Avoid successive recirculation and pumping to prevent a decrease in viscosity and rupture due to entrained air. We do not recommend storage for more than 30 days.

In services by spreading the binder, through distribution bars, the Cationic Asphaltic Emulsion RM-1C does not need heating, and can be applied at room temperature or in the temperature conditions of its arrival at the construction site. Eventually, it can be heated to a temperature of up to 55ºC in case of need to adapt the viscosity for spreading.

Emulção Asfáltica Catiônica RM-1C It is supplied in bulk, Liquid (tons) in tank cars or in 200 liter metallic drums.

During handling, use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). In the event of an accident, consult the Safety Data Sheet for Chemical Products (FISPQ – No. CBAA.002).

It is not recommended to carry out paving services using Cationic Asphaltic Emulsion RM-1C at temperatures below 10°C.

It is not recommended to heat the product through a flame system (torch) at a temperature higher than indicated, due to the fact that it contains solvents / mineral and vegetable thinners in its composition of the asphalt binder (flammable).

Do not store the emulsion diluted with water (binding paint) for a prolonged period and premature rupture, inside the storage tank.

Cationic Asphaltic Emulsions RM-1C is listed by the UN (3082), as a risk substance 9 and subclass N.E (liquid substances that pose a risk to the environment).

When the product arrives at the work site, collect the sample for the reception/quality tests. Do not heat the product before the sampling procedure.

the Product must not be heated for use. Eventually (pump / plant problem) it can be heated up to a maximum of 55ºC, for your application.

The Cationic Asphalt Emulsion RM-1C contains mineral and vegetable solvents / thinners (volatile) in its composition of the asphalt binder, and must be worked with protective equipment (PPE); gas mask and absence of ignition sources near the storage tank (flammable).

The product must be kept in the open air (in a barrel) or in warehouses (in bulk), but properly sealed. It is not recommended to store the product for a period longer than 30 days.

The Cationic Asphaltic Emulsion RM-1C is a product with medium viscosity characteristics. When at rest for a long period of storage, there is sedimentation of asphalt globules on the lower surface and emergence of the chemical aqueous phase component of the emulsion, requiring circulation for homogenization of the same for its application or the occurrence of partial rupture of the state of emulsion.
