Description
Description
THE ASPHALT EMULSION FOR PRIRMING – EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA is an emulsion specially formulated for priming granular bases and soils before applying the asphalt coating. Ecologically correct product, since it uses water as an application vehicle and is free of light distillates. EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA can be used in compacted soils with a unit of up to 4%, with lateral slope between 3% and 5%, for rainwater drainage.
Its formulation with state-of-the-art emulsifiers and unique characteristics, containing shale oil fractions, in addition to the advantages of ADP CM-30, has the following benefits:
- Ready-to-use product (does not require dilution / trimming);
- Water-based product (non-flammable product);
- Applied at room temperature and uses the same conventional equipment for the application of ADP CM-30;
- Easy application and release for any other operation ranging from 5 hours to a maximum of 15 hours, depending on the type of foundation;
- Excellent penetration into any type of base, forming a bituminous layer with an excellent waterproofing surface;
- Low odor.
Uses
Uses
EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA It is specifically used in priming services for a finished granular base (soil or gravel), with the objective of checking the surface cohesion of the granular particles of the base materials, waterproofing and allowing adhesion conditions between this and the coating to be executed, in addition to acting as a dust and mud remover.
Application
Application
The distribution or bath of the diluted binder must be carried out with equipment equipped with a pressure regulator that allows the application of the product in a uniform amount. Distributor equipment, specially built, must be equipped with heating devices, tachometer, calibrators and thermometer, spreading bar with vertical adjustment device and variable widths, and also have a manual spreading bar.
The compacted base must have the surface swept to completely eliminate loose material and be slightly moistened. The application rate must be determined experimentally at the construction site, with its definition 24 hours later, by the absorption of the product by the compacted base. Usually, the rates are in the order of 0.9 to 1.6 L m², depending on the type of material and texture of the base.
The application of EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA can be done at room temperature and a clean spreading truck must be used, with no residues of other products. The product must not be diluted with water.

Presentation
EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA It is supplied in bulk, Liquid (tons) in tank cars or in 200 liter metallic drums.
Recommendations
Recommendations
During handling, use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). In the event of an accident, consult the Safety Data Sheet for Chemical Products (FISPQ – No. CBAA.001).
Employment restriction
Employment restriction
It is not recommended to carry out paving services using EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA at temperatures below 10°C.
Do not apply the product in climatic conditions of possible precipitation, with the binder being dragged over the track printed by rainwater.
For storage periods longer than 30 days in a stationary tank on site, product recirculation is recommended at least once a week. Compressed air should not be injected into the tank to “agitate and bubble” the emulsion, which could cause premature rupture due to the entrapped air.
For loading and unloading operations, it is necessary to check that the receiving tanks are clean, in order to eliminate any degree of contamination, which could compromise performance, increase binder residue or even cause the EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA to rupture.
Do not mix EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA with other products, such as Diluted Petroleum Asphalts CM-30, CM-70 or CR-250, etc., as well as with other types of cationic asphalt emulsions, regardless of the time and type of rupture.
Handling
Handling
EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA is classified by the UN (3082), as a risk substance 9 and subclass N.E (liquid substances that pose a risk to the environment).
The product must not be heated for use. Work at room temperature.
In regions with a hot climate, the product must not be heated inside the storage tank or sprinkler car, provided with a torch flame, for its application. The state of viscosity of the product is in adequate application conditions.
In cold regions, it is acceptable to heat the product up to a temperature of 35°C, with due precautions.
It is recommended a maximum period of 4 hours (from application) to promote the total curing of the primer paint, for the continuation of the service steps.
Storage
Storage
The product must be kept in the open air (in a barrel) or in warehouses (in bulk), but properly sealed. It is not recommended to store the product for a period longer than 30 days.
EAI CM ECOIMPRIMA is a product with low viscosity characteristics, and when at rest for a long period of storage, separation between the chemical binder and aqueous phases of the emulsion may occur, requiring circulation or agitation for its homogenization to your application.
