Description
Description
CBAA FLEX CAP 55/75-E It is an asphalt cement modified with elastomeric polymer and other additives that, under special process conditions, present performance characteristics, such as:
- Reduced thermal sensitivity – High softening point;
- Resistance to repeated thermal and mechanical stresses – Elasticity;
- Aging resistance.
Uses
Uses
CBAA FLEX CAP 55/75-E presents superior performance and durability in paving services, reducing maintenance costs and levels of road accidents, being an effective solution in terms of cost / benefit in asphalt services, such as:
- Hot-Used Asphaltic Concrete (C.A.U.Q), for severe weather and traffic conditions on highways and urban roads;
- Discontinuous Asphalt Coatings (C.P.A. – Friction Porous Layer / S.M.A. – Stone Matrix Asphalt), increasing the safety and durability of the coating, reducing problems on rainy days (aquaplaning / water spray);
- Surface treatments and stress absorption membranes (S.A.M. / S.A.M.I.) increasing the adhesion and cohesion forces of the aggregate / binder pair, reducing the effects of traffic and climate on the asphalt coating.
Application
Application
CBAA FLEX CAP 55/75-E may be damaged if heated to high temperatures (above 190°C) or after prolonged or repeated reheating. It is usually delivered in the machining temperature range (160°C – 175°C), and must be unloaded in tanks free of conventional asphalt ballast (CAP – 50/70 or CAP – 30/45).
It is recommended, during storage for a period of more than 5 days, to store the product at a milder temperature than usual (between 100°C and 120°C), being recommended for short periods of storage at a maximum of 165°C . Store at room temperature if product will be stored for long periods (20 days or more).
The temperature throughout the tank must be uniform and the heat distribution must occur evenly, through the use of a recirculation pump. Never heat the product directly, but rather in tanks equipped with a thermal fluid coil.
Features
Features
CBAA FLEX CAP 55/75-E It is classified according to the Softening Point (minimum °C) and Elastic Recovery (minimum %), according to ANP Resolution No. 897, of November 18, 2022 and DNIT 129/2011 – IN:
Presentation
Presentation
CBAA FLEX CAP 55/75-E is supplied in bulk, liquid (tons) in tank cars.
Recommendations
Recommendations
During handling use PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). In the event of an accident, consult the Safety Data Sheet for Chemical Products (FISPQ – N° CBAA.009).
Employment restriction
Employment restriction
Do not perform asphalt paving services in environmental conditions with temperatures below 10°C, imminent rain during the course of the services or on surfaces with the presence of moisture.
Handling
Handling
CBAA FLEX CAP 55/75-E It is listed by the UN (3257) as a risk substance 9 and subclass N.E (liquids at high temperature).
Regarding the arrival of the product at the workplace, the sample must be taken for reception/quality tests.
Storage
Storage
The product must be kept in a warehouse (in bulk), duly sealed, in lined tanks, with a coil (thermal fluid vapor) and circulation pumps.
The product in storage period (indefinite time) does not suffer degradation of its properties, as long as the appropriate procedures are carried out, overheating operations (>177°C) are not recommended, nor high temperature maintenance with successive reheating for a prolonged period of time. storage .
In case of prolonged storage, it is recommended to keep the temperature of the asphalt at 50°C/60°C or even at room temperature, raising the temperature of the material for the machining process of the bituminous mixture.
