Rapid-setting cationic asphalt emulsion, which has a minimum asphalt binder content of 62%, demulsibility not less than 50%, and Saybolt-Furol viscosity at 50°C of a maximum of 70 seconds, that is, it has low consistency. This emulsion is recommended for tack coat applications between pavement layers. The emulsion residue, among other characteristics, must have a minimum softening point of 55°C and elastic recovery at 25°C of at least 70%.

Description
Description
CBAA FLEX RR-1C-E is a special cationic asphaltic emulsion, modified by elastomeric polymers, which has excellent behavior and durability in the face of the effects of climate and the demands of heavy traffic.
Its formulation with aminated emulsifiers, with fast rupture characteristics, provides fast cohesion of the asphalt/polymer film, through a predominant chemical phenomenon in contact with the aggregate, and the following benefits:
- High power of internal cohesion;
- Satisfactory adhesion with different types of aggregates, acid or alkaline in nature;
- Flexibility;
- Resistance to aging and exudation in the face of large temperature variations;
- Elastic properties when compared to the plastic behavior of binders.
Uses
Uses
CBAA FLEX RR-1C-E It is specifically used in paving services by spreading the asphalt binder in bonding paint, sealing layer and anti-dust treatment.
Application
Application
In surface treatments, CBAA FLEX RR-1C-E must be diluted in a 1:1 ratio with clean water, free of contamination by suspended solids or reactive elements, which may cause premature rupture in the act of dilution or during circulation for homogenization of the mixture. For dilution, add water to the emulsion, never the other way around.
The surface to be bathed by the binder must be dry, free of contaminants such as oil or dust. The diluted emulsion can be heated up to a temperature of 55ºC to provide softening conditions for the sprinkler equipment valves.
The application rate of the bonding paint bath will be in the order of 1.0 – 1.2 L / m², occurring within a period of 20 minutes (maximum) the breakdown of the emulsion and deposition / adherence of the asphaltic film on the bathed surface (when Sun).
In case of pooling of the bath diluted in depressions on the lower surface, it is recommended to sweep the pooled area to promote the rupture of the binder bath.
In case of storage for long periods, it is recommended to circulate the product once every two weeks. Avoid successive recirculation and pumping to prevent a decrease in viscosity and rupture due to entrained air. We do not recommend storage for more than 21 days. It is recommended that the place of storage and storage be properly sealed, to avoid the occurrence of sedimentation and partial rupture.

CBAA FLEX RR-1C-E it is supplied in bulk, liquid (tons) in tank cars or in 200-liter metal drums.
Recommendations
Recommendations
During handling, use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). In the event of an accident, consult the Safety Data Sheet for Chemical Products (FISPQ – No. CBAA.002).
Employment restriction
Employment restriction
It is not recommended to carry out paving services using the CBAA FLEX RR-1C-E, at temperatures below 10°C.
Do not store the asphaltic emulsion after the heating process or successive heating processes, as this could lead to destabilization of the emulsion state and premature rupture of the product.
Do not use polluted aggregates (stone dust, clay) in services using this product.
Handling
Handling
CBAA FLEX RR-2C-E is classified by the UN (3082), as a substance of risk 9 and subclass N.E (liquid substances that present a risk to the environment).
As for the arrival of the product at the work site, collect the sample for the reception/quality tests. Do not heat the product before the sampling procedure.
We do not recommend pre-heating the product on a trailer, as changes in characteristics may occur, making it unfeasible to use.
Contact with the cold product does not cause irritation to the skin, causing burning in the eye when hit. Cold product in contact with the skin will be removed with soap and water. Asphalt residue can be removed with vegetable or mineral oil.
Storage
Storage
The product can be kept in deposits (bulk), duly sealed. It is not recommended to store the product for a period longer than 21 days.
CBAA FLEX RR-1C-E is a product with low viscosity characteristic. When at rest for a long period of storage, sedimentation of asphalt globules occurs on the lower surface and emergence of the chemical aqueous phase that composes the emulsion, requiring circulation to homogenize the same for its application or the occurrence of partial rupture of the emulsion state .
