A Emulsão Asfáltica Catiônica RR-2C it confers excellent adhesion of the asphalt binder to mineral contact surfaces, whether acidic or basic. Formulated with aminated emulsifiers to characterize the rapid breakdown of the emulsion, it provides rapid cohesion of the asphaltic film, through a predominantly chemical phenomenon, in contact with the aggregate or with the plated surface.

A Emulsão Asfáltica RR-2C It is used especially in paving services by spreading and inverted (or direct) penetration of the asphalt binder, in surface treatments (in its various modalities – single, double and triple) and in bituminous macadam for laying or resurfacing pavements. It can be used in sealing layer services and in dilute bath or bonding paints.

In paving services by penetration of the binder (surface treatments and bituminous macadam) the Cationic Asphaltic Emulsion RR-2C, of high viscosity, must be heated to a maximum temperature of 70ºC to obtain the adequate viscosity for its spreading through the distribution bar or hose equipped with a manually controlled spray nozzle (pen). The rupture of the Cationic Asphaltic Emulsion RR-2C, of fast characteristic, presents cohesion / fixation of the binder to the aggregates within 2 hours of its application (in the sun), in adequate working conditions. Under humid conditions, the emulsion may bleed.

We recommend consulting our Technical Department for technical guidance regarding the use and application of the RR-2C Cationic Asphaltic Emulsion.

In case of storage for long periods, it is recommended to circulate the product once every two weeks. Avoid successive recirculation and pumping to avoid viscosity dilution and rupture by included air. We do not recommend storage for more than 21 days. It is recommended that the place of storage and storage be properly sealed, to avoid the occurrence of sedimentation and partial rupture.

In diluted painting services, clean water must be used, free of contamination by suspended solids or reactive elements, which may cause premature rupture in the act of dilution or during circulation to homogenize the mixture. For dilution add water to the emulsion, never the other way around.

During handling, use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). In the event of an accident, consult the Safety Data Sheet for Chemical Products (FISPQ – No. CBAA.002).

It is not recommended to carry out paving services using Cationic Asphaltic Emulsion RR-2C at temperatures below 10°C.

Do not store the asphaltic emulsion after the heating process or successive heating processes, as this could lead to destabilization of the emulsion state and premature rupture of the product.

Do not use polluted aggregates (powder, stone, clay) in services using this product.

Do not store the emulsion diluted with water (binding paint) for a prolonged period and premature rupture, inside the storage tank.

RR-2C Cationic Asphaltic Emulsions is listed by the UN (3082), as a risk substance 9 and subclass N.E (liquid substances that pose a risk to the environment).

When the product arrives at the work site, collect the sample for the reception/quality tests. Do not heat the product before the sampling procedure.

We do not recommend pre-heating the product on a trailer, as changes in characteristics may occur, making it unfeasible to use.

To adjust the viscosity conditions for spreading, the temperature of the emulsion should be around 65ºC., max 70ºC (temperature obtained in the spreading cart).

Contact with the cold product does not cause irritation to the skin, causing burning in the eyes when hit. Cold product in contact with the skin will be removed with soap and water. Asphalt residue can be removed with vegetable or mineral oil.

Em serviços de pavimentação com pinturas diluídas, deve-se utilizar de água limpa, isenta de contaminação por sólidos em suspensão ou de elementos negativos, podendo ocasionar ruptura no ato de diluição da emulsão ou durante a circulação para a homogeneização da mistura.

The product must be kept in the open air (in a barrel) or in warehouses (in bulk), but properly sealed. It is not recommended to store the product for a period longer than 30 days.

The Cationic Asphaltic Emulsion RR-2C is a product with medium to high viscosity characteristics. When at rest for a long period of storage, sedimentation of asphalt globules occurs on the lower surface and emergence of the chemical aqueous phase component of the emulsion, requiring circulation to homogenize the same for its application or the occurrence of partial rupture of the state of emulsion.
