Petroleum Asphalt Cement (CAP) is a viscous liquid, semi-solid or solid, at room temperature which exhibits thermoplastic behavior: it becomes liquid when heated and solid after cooling. It is obtained through various petroleum distillation processes and is almost completely soluble in benzene, trichlorethylene and carbon disulfide.

It is the raw material for diluted asphalts, asphalt emulsions, modified asphalts, foam asphalt and rubber asphalt. In addition to raw material for other asphalt products, CAP is mostly used in the production of hot asphalt mixes, such as asphalt concrete.

CBAA's polymer-modified asphalt binders are manufactured using SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) polymer to improve the performance of asphalt binders and consequently the pavements, thus reducing the frequency of maintenance and increasing the life cycle of the pavements. CBAA's polymer-modified asphalts provide your construction project with improvements in the performance of produced asphalt mixes, both in terms of permanent deformation and fatigue. They are physically and chemically stable products, maintaining their properties during storage, application and service throughout all stages of the process.

Ground Tire Rubber-Modified Asphalt is a mixture of petroleum asphalt cement, recycled tire rubber, and other performance-enhancing additives. Rubber is more resistant to cracking, permanent deformation and other pathologies compared to traditional asphalt. In addition to its durability, rubber asphalt is also a sustainable product. By using recycled tire rubber in our manufacturing process, we contribute to the reduction of this open-air waste, which would take hundreds of years to decompose.

Diluted asphalt is the material resulting from the dilution of petroleum asphalt cement with a suitable distilled solvent. It is used on the surface of the completed base layer in order to waterproof the base layer.

The term “emulsion” is used when a mixture of two or more liquids is created that, by nature, do not mix together. Asphalt Emulsion can be defined as the dispersion of asphalt in water with the aid of mechanical shear action and stabilizing chemical additives (surfactants or emulsifiers). In pavement construction, asphalt emulsions are classified into conventional and polymer-modified emulsions.

Emulsions are classified into the following types in terms of their breakthrough time:

• RR - Rapid Setting

• RM - Medium Setting

• RL - Slow Setting

• RC - Controlled Setting

Styrenebutadiene-Styrene (SBS) polymer-modified emulsions exhibit, among other properties, improved adhesion and cohesion to aggregates, reduced thermal susceptibility, higher softening point, and resistance to aging. They also increase the elastic recovery of the residual asphalt binder and, consequently, the flexibility and durability of thin asphalt coatings.

ECO-DOPE CBAA is a chemical additive with high thermal stability, resistant to high temperatures, which improves the adhesiveness of the asphalt binder / aggregate. The formulation contains chemical components that provide better affinity between various types of aggregates and asphalt binders in the presence of water, preventing the displacement of the asphalt film that coats the aggregate.
