Description
Description
A Emulsão Asfáltica Catiônica RR-1C it confers excellent adhesion of the asphalt binder to mineral contact surfaces, whether acidic or basic. Formulated with aminated emulsifiers to characterize the rapid breakdown of the emulsion, it provides rapid cohesion of the asphaltic film, through a predominantly chemical phenomenon, in contact with the aggregate or with the plated surface.
Uses
Uses
A Emulsão Asfáltica RR-1C it is currently used especially in paving services, such as bonding painting, as it facilitates bonding and provides lower execution costs and the formation of a continuous asphalt film on the bathed surface.
It can be used in paving services by (direct) penetration of the binder, such as surface treatments and bituminous macadam, in emergency works or in small-scale services.
Application
Application
In bonding painting services, the Cationic Asphalt Emulsion RR-1C must be diluted at the proportion of 50% RR-1C with 50% clean water, free of contamination by suspended solids or reactive elements, which may cause premature rupture in the act of painting. dilution or during circulation to homogenize the mixture. For dilution add water to the emulsion, never the other way around.
The surface to be bathed by the binder must be dry, free of contaminants such as oil or dust. The asphaltic emulsion (diluted) can be heated up to a temperature of 55ºC to provide softening conditions for the sprinkler equipment valves.
The application rate of the bonding paint bath will be of the order of 1.0 – 1.2 L / m², occurring within a period of 20 minutes (maximum) the breakdown of the emulsion and deposition / adhesion of the asphaltic film on the bathed surface ( in the sun).
In case of pooling of the bath diluted in depressions on the lower surface, it is recommended to sweep the pooled area, to promote the rupture of the binder bath.
In penetration paving services, such as surface treatment or bituminous macadam, we recommend consulting our Technical Department for technical guidance regarding use, distribution rates and application temperature.

Presentation
Emulsão Asfáltica Catiônica RR-1C It is supplied in bulk, Liquid (tons) in tank cars or in 200 liter metallic drums.
Recommendations
Recommendations
During handling, use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). In the event of an accident, consult the Safety Data Sheet for Chemical Products (FISPQ – No. CBAA.002).
Employment restriction
Employment restriction
It is not recommended to carry out paving services using Cationic Asphalt Emulsion RR-1C at temperatures below 10°C.
Do not apply the product in climatic conditions of possible precipitation, with the binder being dragged over the track printed by rainwater.
Do not store the emulsion diluted with water (binding paint) for a prolonged period and premature rupture, inside the storage tank.
Handling
Handling
RR-1C Cationic Asphaltic Emulsions is listed by the UN (3082), as a risk substance 9 and subclass N.E (liquid substances that pose a risk to the environment).
The product must not be heated for use. Eventually (pumping problem) it can be heated up to a maximum of 55ºC, for its application (pure or dilution).
Contact with the cold product does not cause irritation to the skin, causing burning in the eyes when hit. Cold product in contact with the skin will be removed with soap and water. Asphalt residue can be removed with vegetable or mineral oil.
In paving services with diluted paints, clean water must be used, free of contamination by solids in suspension or negative elements, which may cause breakage when diluting the emulsion or during circulation to homogenize the mixture.
Storage
Storage
The product must be kept in the open air (in a barrel) or in warehouses (in bulk), but properly sealed. It is not recommended to store the product for a period longer than 30 days.
The Cationic Asphaltic Emulsion RR-1C is a product with low viscosity characteristics, and when at rest for a long period of storage, separation between the binder and chemical aqueous phases of the emulsion may occur, requiring circulation or agitation for homogenization the same for your application.
